Audience Measurement & Asset Tracking.

Xsights Gateway Analytics enables real-time audience measurement, through automated collection and processing of location data including Count, Time & Dwell for defined locations.

In collaboration with RAC Holiday Parks, Curtin University & Mets Ignited, Xsights was engaged to provide real-time audience measurement and asset tracking at the RAC Exmouth Cape Holiday Park for their shared ablution blocks and cleaning carts.

With the objective to enhance caravanner & camper experience, Xsights Gateways were deployed for anonymous audience measurement, to establish the variable foot traffic for the ablution blocks across the day, weeks and months.

In addition, Xsights IoT devices were attached to cleaning carts - to create smart cleaning carts – that connected to the Xsights Asset Tracking Solutions (XATS), to report on the presence and dwell of the facility cleaners.

By overlapping the location audience data with visibility of when cleaners were on location at the ablution blocks – including time of day and for how long (dwell) - management was provided with real time visibility to understand, assess and optimise the cleaning service schedules to enhance caravanner & camper experience.

By The Numbers.

The RAC ablution block data acquisition project has generated useful sets of data for achieving the project objectives.

The following data outputs are specific to the Coral Toilets.

On average, the cleaning carts visited this location two times each day.

The average cleaning time was 30 minutes per visit.

The busiest day of September for the Coral Toilets was the 2nd with a total number of detected visitors being 1251 over the 24hr time period.

The Raw and Adjusted data also reveals the existing cleaning pattern in comparison to visitor count.

Actionable Insights.

Dr. Michael Garrett – Solutions Architect for Xsights Digital had this to say about the project with RAC Holiday Parks.

“As presented, the peak visitor periods are immediately identifiable, providing RAC with Real Time visibility and Historical view of visitors and cleaning for review and analysis.

Visitor peaks have been identified as early morning around 07:00, around lunch time 12:00, and then early evening from 17:00 - 20:00.

Based on this insight, the opportunity exists to realign cleaning schedules prior to these peak times, to enhance caravanner & camper experience.”

In summary, the provision of Location Data through the Xsights ‘Sensing as a Service’ solution, is helping RAC Holiday Parks to progress actionable business insights for,

  1. Understanding Facility Usage & Foot Traffic,
  2. Optimizing Resource Allocations for Location Activities including, Cleaning, Servicing & Maintenance Schedules,
  3. Site Security & Risk Mitigation,
  4. A Better Understanding of the Variables Affecting Facility Usage/Foot Traffic,
  5. Optimizing Location Events,
  6. Maintaining an Asset Register & providing Asset Status Reports for their cleaning carts and applicable assets.
